A Ukranian couple recently moved to Seattle where they bought a house to make their home. While from the 80’s and not in the best condition, the house they chose has spectacular views of Lake Washington and was the perfect canvas for a remodel. To bring their dream home to life, they hired interior design/architect Tatiana from Space Lab Design, who is an expert in modern design. The owners were looking for a contemporary look with clean lines, open spaces and natural light so this project was destined for success with Tatiana’s guidance. Below, Tatiana’s experience with this project.

The original house had out-dated finishes, a compartmentalized layout, and didn’t take advantage of the beautiful views that my clients fell in love with. They wanted to open up the front facades to the view and reconfigure the main floor plan. They pictured a more versatile kitchen with an open layout into the dining and living room.

I wanted a light color palette to create the modern interior style my clients were looking for. As a designer, I believe flooring is a critical piece of the project, as it’s the backdrop of the design and the rest of the finishes need to work with it.

I was thrilled when I found Woodpecker at the Seattle Home Show. I looked at all of their collections and knew they would be the perfect flooring brand for my projects that feature contemporary and clean designs.

Woodpecker flooring collections have character with a fresh, contemporary look that creates a beautiful backdrop without taking away the overall feel. 

When I saw the flooring installed, I knew I had picked a winner. It is beautiful, fresh, and versatile; I can see this floor in many other styles. My experience with Woodpecker has been fantastic and I will continue using it for other projects.
