What is Stratex?
Stratex is next generation flooring. If we were to summarise its qualities in the simplest way, we would say it is incredibly strong and durable, resistant to humid climates and compatible with underfloor heating, making it the perfect flooring for rooms that require a really high-performance, low-maintenance floor. It’s also available in over 26 colours and finishes, so you will have no difficulty in finding the perfect look for your home.

What makes Stratex special?
With our Stratex range, we have essentially taken all of the best bits from LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) flooring and laminate flooring, and then improved them even further to create a floor range that is incredibly hard wearing, very structurally stable, easy to lay and easy to maintain. And of course, beautiful too.
The technical details of Stratex
Our Stratex flooring is unique to us – and we’re very proud of it. Our designers have perfected the best combination of layers to make tasteful but tough floors. Here’s a little breakdown of the details:
- Your choice of an embossed vinyl wood-effect or real wood upper layer
- Mineral / Resin composite core for incredible strength
- Built-in underlay for speed and ease
- Low tog rating making it compatible for underfloor heating
- Easiloc joints for easy, seamless fitting
- And all of our Stratex flooring options can be installed directly onto most existing subfloors.
The ranges of Woodpecker Stratex flooring
A high-performance floor in a wide range of realistic wood-effect finishes
Stratex | Brecon | Blanche Oak
Our Brecon range is our hardest-wearing flooring – but you wouldn’t know it from appearance alone. It looks just as beautiful as all our other wood floors but has the added advantage of being waterproof and extremely durable.
This is because it doesn’t have a wooden top layer, but instead has an embossed, woodgrain-effect vinyl upper layer, so beautifully designed that you wouldn’t know it until you looked really closely.
The combination of layers makes Brecon very tough, meaning that children dragging chairs, dogs skidding after toys and high heels at parties are welcome; with minimal marks!
Stratex | Brecon | Whisper Oak
Our Brecon range is also the best flooring for a bathroom, or ensuite. You want underfloor heating? No problem. Due to its strong mineral / resin composite core, expansion is very minimal under varying temperature and humidity changes. All of this means that you can relax in the knowledge that your Brecon Stratex floor is going to look as great in 25 years as it did on the day you installed it (and for many years more).

Beautiful high-performance boards with a real wood top layer
Our Lynton range is brand new to our collection of flooring. We’ve created it using our unique Stratex technology, but it differs from the Brecon range in that instead of an embossed vinyl upper layer, it has a beautiful real wood top layer. This stunning natural finish is also our most durable natural wood floor to date.
Stratex | Lynton | Chiffon Oak
The planks are dent-resistant and water-resistant – perfect for even the most hard-working rooms – and are fully compatible with underfloor heating too. This means no warping, no unsightly cracks, and no need to worry if you have an absent-minded habit of rocking in your chair…
Does this sound like the floor for you? Order a free sample from our Lynton range today.
