WOOD FLOORING FAQS

These are the questions we get asked most often about our floors and their features.

How to I clean my Highclere floor?

All of our Highclere floors have a brushed & matt lacquered finish, therefore you can use our cleaning kit for lacquered floors. You may also keep it clean with a well wrung damp mop.

How thick is Highclere flooring?

Highclere flooring is 15mm thick with a 4mm real oak wear layer.

Is Highclere flooring harder to install than plank flooring?

Patterned flooring such as herringbone is generally much more complex to install than traditional straight plank. This is because the pattern needs to be measured and laid perfectly, otherwise you will end up with gaps. Therefore we recommend choosing an installer who has plenty of experience.

Does this floor come in any other matching styles?

Yes – this floor is available in a matching plank within our Harlech range and a smaller herringbone within our Goodrich range.

Can I use underfloor heating with Highclere flooring?

Yes – Highclere is suitable when fully stuck down.

How can Highclere floors be installed?

Highclere can be floated, glued or secret nailed.

What joints does Highclere flooring have?

Highclere floors have tongue & groove joints.

Can I use Highclere flooring in my bathroom?

We generally wouldn’t recommend using engineered flooring in a bathroom.
